Marching band began yesterday morning. It’s nice to be able to go back and see the kids as the school year is quickly approaching. This will be an interesting year, no doubt. It should prove to be a lot of fun, and much less stress (at times) than last year. God is good, and I know that He has me teaching where I am for a reason.

This being my first real entry aside from some old stuff that I have written, I will go on to do a bit of introduction here. First of all, because I intend to be as transparent as possible with this web log, and because I tend to hold some strong opinions on some thing, and to protect the innocent , I will avoid using names on here to a certain extent. If you have comments, please feel free to leave them on this site.

Who am I?
I am a band director in Texas. I am a Christian and play in my praise band at Calvary Chapel. I am about as right-wing conservative as you could hope to find. I have a Bachelors degree in Music Education, and hope to one day get a Masters degree in Biblical Studies. While I am a band director now, I would very much like one day to live in Israel. I believe that Israel is the only nation in the world with a God-given right to the land where they live. That doesn’t mean that I am pro-Jew or anti-Muslim or anything, I love all people. I believe that both Jews and Muslims are misled and need to come to faith in Jesus the Messiah, who will return soon and quickly to take His church to be with Him forever. Apart from Jesus, there can be no hope or peace anywhere. The Bible clearly declares that:

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

“The wages of win is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Lord.”

-and-

“That if you will confess the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

It is my prayer, as well as the heart of God, that everyone will come to repentance and will be able to spend eternity in the presence of God, rather than separated from God. Eternity does not end. It is very sad to me that so many people seem to choose to reject the love of God. God does not simply have an abundance of Love, the Apostle John tells us that God is love. What powerful truth. What an exciting prospect to realize that we can live a life that pleases the One who created all things.
